"Every statement piece (t-shirt, mug, hoodie, notebook, etc) on YearofYushima.netis inspired by book,Picking Up the Pieces to 100 Broken Promises. We aim to inspire, motivate and empower through every event we host, the events that we attend and through every piece of clothing we create. When I created this collection, I wanted to tell my story from childhood to now and everything in between. If you look at each item and its corresponding chapter, you will be engulfed in my journey, consisting of my struggle, my pain, my growth and my healing. Each item is a reflection of an experience, a title of a chapter or a quote from my book, in chronological order. Each piece means something dear to me, but it doesn't just tell my story, it tells your story as well. Explore the collection and find the pieces that resonate with you, or bless someone else and make their day. May you find the peace, hope and healing that you deserve." Yushima Cherry Burks
What does Yushima mean?
The definition of Yushima is Japan is Cherry Blossom, which symbolizes a new beginning, spring time and change. We are always evolving, changing and growing. Yushima also means respect and honor in my ancestors native tongue, and this is the year of respect and honor.
A Word from My Publisher
"In her book, Picking up the Pieces to 100 Broken Promises, Yushima lays herself bare, sharing some of her lived experiences and showing how they have shaped her life to date. Since the release of her book in 2020, Yushima has continued to excel in meeting her life’s goals. She has recently started her brand, Year of Yushima, which not only offers empowering wearable statement pieces, but also donates proceeds from sales towards helping others heal from trauma.
On her YouTube channel and through her social media posts, you can enjoy her bubbly, sometimes goofy personality. Luckily, you will also get to see that Yushima is all business, putting in the work and effort to promote healing." Tamarind Hill Publishing
